WINGS OF FIRE 2016
|
According to Wikipedia, the Scoville scale is a measurement of the pungency (spicy heat) of chili peppers—or other spicy foods as reported in Scoville heat units (SHU),[1] a function of capsaicin concentration. To our Third Annual WOF challengers, it just means that the Wing Dome’s 7 Alarm Wings got even hotter. Yep, we turned up the heat again on the wings this year but somehow, everyone finished! Maybe 600,000 Scoville is just not enough? Whatever the case, we had a great event, raised a nice bundle for YouthCare with customers, employee and two great vendors – Honeywell and Bosch. Take a look…

Our second challenge! We received great support from customers, employees and vendors for the event and were ecstaic to be able to put the event together again. Honeywell was gracious enough to sponsor the event with us again, too. We had more challengers throw their hats in the ring so we added two more challenger’s chairs to the event. And from the sounds (and looks) of it, the Wing Dome put a little more “hot” in their sauce! and, best of all, we raised $5000.00 for Seattle Children’s

WINGS OF FIRE 2014

Our first event - we went from a spark of an idea to the event in 90 days! The springboard for us was Cletus Kathol’s (AKA Our Wingman) love for all things hot, including wings. He’d completed several “7 Deadly Wing Challenges” at the Wing Dome and had all the trophies and Wing Dome gear to back it up. We decided to turn this ‘skill’ into a fund raising event with a goal of supporting a great local charity – Seattle Children’s. So we made plans to bring the Wing Dome’s “7 Deadly Wing Challenge to the Seattle Green Room and named the event “Wings of Fire”. Honeywell heard about our plans and offered to help with sponsorship of the event. Our first event featured eight Challengers, most of whom had never entered a challenge before. By the time the event was over, we’d raised almost $2000.00 for Seattle Children’s during our 7 minute challenge! Here is the video!
